Our Story

Bob's perspective:

I had just re-activated my Match.com profile and after listening to my father's advise "it'll happen when you least expect it" it did. I opened my profile after a couple days and there Wendy was, liking my profile from 3.5 hours away. LOL. After seeing her pictures with Lexi and reading that we shared a common experience which was the Army, I had to message her and learn more. I messaged her that instant on a Friday evening and she responded with "can I talk to you tomorrow". HAHAHA. I was a little discouraged but the following Thursday she cleared her schedule and we talked for hours. A week or 2 later I was on the interstate headed south. Wendy is and has been the most loving, caring, kind, and patient person I have ever met!!! Lord knows I needed that. I grew up in church and raised my children in church and have spent the last few years trying to get my life right and regain my relationship with God. Wendy has been very supportive of me in that and has been very loving toward my family and friends. They all love her kind and loving heart, just not near as much as I do. I'll let her tell you the rest!!!

Wendy's perspective:

I saw Bob's profile on a dating website and after reading his profile, my interest was peaked. He quickly responded and we were soon talking and Facetiming. His patience for meeting was adorably short. We met about week later. He pulled up to my apartment in Charleston, WV and the physical attraction was certainly there... I still had to find out if the written part of the profile was sincere - as you can imagine, it was and then some! After dating for a few weeks, he brought up the option of moving me in with him, a few weeks after that, I agreed. He came and scooped me up and I've fallen deeper in love with him with every passing day. My favorite thing about Bob is by far his huge heart. I love watching his smile as he talks to people, but I have to say, I love it the most when it's me he's smiling at.

We talked about and agreed to get married before he proposed, so it wasn't a huge surprise, but I wasn't expecting it the day that he did. We were at Smoke Hole and had a blanket laid out on the bank of the crystal clear river, talking about our future. As we were getting up and about to gather our belongings, he begin reading a Bible verse to me, I still didn't realize what he was about to do. Then he pulled out the ring box and like my sweet, romantic and chivalrous man that he is, he bent to a knee and asked me to be his wife. I felt like a teenage girl giddy with excitement, overwhelming love and belonging. He is my home
